A useful addition for an Iris Valve
A useful option to use in conjunction with a Mucon Iris Valve is a LINER. A Liner is simply a tube of flexible material, which passes through the valve, which is constricted (or throttled) by a closing diaphragm.
Why use a Liner?
DIAPHRAGM / LINER COMBINATIONS
For the majority of applications a rubber liner (abrasion resistant or Food Quality) is used in conjunction with a fabric diaphragm. The fabric diaphragm giving the best "strangling" characteristics. - Fabric Diaphragms / Fabric liners are O.K. - Fabric Diaphragms/ Coated Fabric and Rubber liners are O.K. - Coated Fabric or Rubber Diaphragms/ Coated Fabric or Rubber liners can be problematic and should be avoided. Liners can be fitted to series AS,AD,BS,BD,C,ED,and H valves and are fabricated from the following sheet materials:
Variations of construction of some liners is available for applications that may involve liquids.
LINER "HEM" OPTIONS
Liners can be fitted with flanges at both ends. i.e. Double Flanged liners. Free hanging liners can be furnished with a variety of "hems".
